The Birth of Sesame Street
When “Sesame Street” first aired on November 10, 1969, we had no idea it would turn out to be one of the highest-grossing and highest-rated children’s television shows in the United States. The show’s main goal was to create free segments or programs that would educate preschoolers while still being entertained.
They designed the show to be incorporated with live-action, animation, puppetry, trendy humor, and cultural references. “Sesame Street” reached 86 million worldwide. More than that, this is also one of the most-highly awarded shows, with 11 Emmy and 11 Grammy awards.
