The Beginning of a More Intimate Revolution

A considerable part of the counterculture in the ’60s was that people were becoming more open to topics about being liberated and developing intimate relationships. The period was marked by a social and cultural movement accompanying the invention of birth control pills.

People came with more liberalized attitudes and widespread encouragement for women’s freedom. Over time, engaging in intimate relationships become normal and acceptable. On the other hand, researchers such as Wilhelm Reich and Alfred Kinsey argued about the negative implications of this new norm. Nevertheless, the revolution continued to foster as years passed.
