Folk Music Back on Track Again
American folk music has experienced such significant ups and down from the ’40s through the ’60s. However, it reached its peak in the ’60s and was introduced as another genre of music. The revival was rooted in the desire to represent communities that experienced contemporary issues through art.
It transformed into a new but better sound by combining the old trend and new ones in the field. It continued to shape and contribute to the country, jazz, and rock and roll genre. Some of the leading proponents were Joan Baez, Dave Van Ronk, and Bob Dylan.
