We associate Richard Gere with snow-white hair, mischievous eyes, and a disarming smile. The actor and producer has had a long and flourishing career in the film industry though. Gere began with small roles in supporting casts till his breakthrough in movies such as American Gigolo and Pretty Woman.
On and off, Gere has separated himself from Hollywood primarily due to his political views, which have only opened new avenues for him in the form of independent cinema. If it was not for this self-imposed sabbatical, we would not have seen him in works such as Arbitrage.
