The Aftermath and Clean-Up
This camping chair discarded near the Pyramid Stage was pictured on July 1, 2024, marking the end of the Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm. Following US R&B star SZA’s headlining set, tired revellers began their journey home, leaving behind mountains of rubbish.
The Glastonbury clean-up began immediately, with dozens of volunteers collecting tonnes of waste, including empty food and drink containers, clothing, and other discarded items. It takes several weeks of dedicated effort before evidence of the festival fully disappears and the farm returns to normal. The commitment to restoring the site reflects the festival’s emphasis on sustainability and respect for the environment.
