The Beverly Hillbillies star Max Baer Jr. gained celebrity status in the ‘60s and ‘70s when he played Jethro Bodine. Unfortunately, not all actors have a smooth run in their careers, so when The Beverly Hillbillies was canceled in 1971, it declined Baer’s career, and he found himself typecast.
Setbacks don’t mean you have to stop pushing, and Baer proved this by investing in production and direction after his career decline, making huge profits from projects like Ode to Billy Joe. The actor was fighting for more and ventured into the betting industry in the ‘80s, but wasn’t exactly successful there either.
