Football is generally more a male thing. But Bibiana Steinhaus put an end to that. After leaving her own career as an active player at SV Bad Lauterberg, she followed in her father’s footsteps in the world of referees. In 2007 she finally became the first woman who was also allowed to officiate a men’s game. She was named Germany’s best referee six times and the world’s best four times. She has been married to her partner Howard Webb since 2016. He also has a career as a referee in the Premier League in England. He has already officiated European Championship and World Cup games. The two seem incredibly happy together and grin together for the cameras.
