Civilians Stood From Their Homes for Anti-Vietnam Protests
While military conflict continued to arise between Vietnam, the U.S., and other opposition countries during the ’60s, civilians shouted otherwise. They stood from their respective homes and campuses to take part in promoting peace. Mostly, college students started the movement. They also highlighted their “Make Love Not War” slogans.
The main demonstration hubs were located in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, and New York. The focus of the civilians was to promote and be an embodiment of the anti-war movement. There were at-home protests and quick marches, all while the war was heightened overseas.
