The Invention Of The Birth Control Pill
Some other methods of birth control long existed before the ’60s. However, the invention of the pill is worth mentioning in history. It offers numerous benefits for women, such as convenience, safety, reducing acne, making periods lighter, and easing menstrual cramps.
The Food and Drug Administration approved its usage in 1960. Within the first two years of its release, about 1.2 million American women were already using it. After some debate about its legalization across all kinds of people, the Supreme Court made the pill legal for all citizens in 1972.
