The Doors on Their Debut Album

Before ranking 41st on Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, The Doors started humbly in the ’60s. Their debut album, released in 1967, gained recognition because of their different offer in the sound of Rock & Roll. They shied away from the usual upbeat and hopeful energy of bands in the same genre.

The Doors focuses more on implying stories through a more stern vibe and less forgiving tone. Regardless, they still played a role in the counterculture, and the group established new yet slightly different approaches to music. Plus, they remained one of the best-selling bands of all time with 100 million records worldwide.
