Eileen Derbyshire (Born In 1931) – Coronation Street

Eileen Derbyshire is another British old-timer that deserves a mention. As a matter of fact, her case is quite special as she played the same role, that of Emily Bishop, on “Coronation Street” for more than five decades.

Having played the character for 55 years, she automatically became the longest-serving female cast member in British soap opera history. Astonishingly, Derbyshire never acted in any other series or movie throughout her entire career apart from one titled “All Star Comedy Carnival.” To the delight of “Coronation Street” buffs, she reprised her role with a brief cameo in 2019.
