Thelma Barlow (Born In 1929) – Coronation Street

Thelma Barlow was a delight for anyone who cared to watch her on the popular British opera “Coronation Street.” She played the role of Mavis Wilton on the show for 26 years, spanning from 1971 to 1997.

Barlow’s career didn’t end after that as she continued to appear on TV. She went on to play several roles in other TV shows, most notably that of Dolly Bellfield in the BBC sitcom “dinnerladies.” Although she hasn’t announced her retirement, Barlow hasn’t starred onscreen since she appeared in “Florence Foster Jenkins” in 2016.
