Johnny Mathis’s legacy as one of America’s finest singers can’t be disputed. Not only has he received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, which is a rare feat for artists, he’s been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for three separate recordings. It’s been quite a twist of fate for him, considering earlier in his life, he was a very promising athlete and was studying to become a teacher.

He’s had such a successful career, having recorded several albums that have gone gold or platinum. Despite this, Mathis has by no means stopped doing what he loves. In 2020, he released a compilation album titled “Gold.”
