Helen Shapiro (Born 1946) – You Don’t Know
At a time when legendary acts like the Beatles were dominating international music, female pop stars like Helen Shapiro were also making waves. She was extremely talented, as at the tender age of 14, she had already started topping United Kingdom charts with songs like “You Don’t Know” and “Walkin’ Back to Happiness.”
Shapiro not only shone during the Beatles’ era. As a matter of fact, she toured with them. Although her popularity diminished in the ‘70s and ‘80s, her legacy as a British pop star in the ‘60s has been cemented. She hasn’t quit music, as since 2015, she’s been part of a musical trio called “Hebron.”
