Gary Clarke (Born In 1933) – The Virginian
Gary Clarke has been in the film industry since the late ‘50s. Before his stardom, he had jobs as a machinist and a newspaper delivery man. Things however changed for Clarke after he landed his first lead role in Dragstrip Riot in 1958.
The role that brought him massive fame and for which he will always be remembered is that of Steve Hill in the Western series “The Virginian.” Clarke became much less active following the turn of the century but he never fully retired. In 2021, he appeared in a short film titled “IRA: Cashing In.”
