The Birth of Glastonbury: A Festival of Music and Magic

The first-ever Glastonbury Festival occurred in 1970, the day after Jimi Hendrix passed away. Imagine a crowd of just 1,500 people, each having paid £1, which included free milk from the farm! This makeshift structure stood proudly in the fields of the Somerset countryside, symbolising the beginning of what would become an iconic music festival. The stage’s pyramid shape, inspired by the Great Pyramid of Giza, created a unique and mystical atmosphere, setting the tone for the future of Glastonbury’s legendary performances.
